Présentation du laboratoire
Le Département d’électronique des détecteurs et d’informatique pour la physique a pour principale vocation d’inventer et de construire les instruments de détection du futur, ambitieux et innovants, indispensables aux progrès de la physique étudiée à l’Irfu. Ceci implique à la fois un positionnement sur de grands projets, tels que les NECTARCAM pour CTA avec le développement de puces capturant et enregistrant les signaux ultrarapides de détecteurs ou encore le développement de détecteurs CMOS pour le collisionneur LHC, de caméra Caliste pour le satellite Solar Orbiter mais aussi du développement de logiciel embarqué à bord du satellite SVOM.
Cette instrumentation à la pointe de la technologie n’est pas possible sans une forte implication en R&D notamment dans les domaines des détecteurs gazeux et de la microélectronique, les domaines d’excellence du DEDIP. Disposant d’infrastructures technologiques telles des chambres blanches pour l’intégration des instruments, des chambres noires pour la caractérisation de détecteur ultrarapide ou encore l’atelier micromegas pour leur fabrication. Grâce à cette complémentarité de profils mécanique, informatique et électronique, le DEDIP peut concevoir de façon autonome des systèmes de détections complets allant des capteurs jusqu’à la visualisation de données.
